The Harbor Area (CA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated was established in 1966 to serve the Long Beach, Compton, and south Los Angeles areas. Our 50 plus members are leaders in the fields of business, education, medicine, philanthropy, and technology, completing more than 4,000 hours of meaningful service each year.
Since our founding, we have distinguished ourselves as a group of highly accomplished black women who volunteer tirelessly to deliver transformational and sustainable education, arts, health, and civic programming to underserved members of the Greater Los Angeles community through the five facets of The Links, Incorporated.
The Links, Incorporated, founded in 1946, is one of the oldest and largest volunteer service organizations of women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the cultural and economic survival of African Americans and other underrepresented minorities. The membership consists of more than 17,000 professional women of color in 299 chapters located in 41 states, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of the Bahamas, and the United Kingdom who are devoted to impacting the quality of life in the communities they serve.
